Forest School
Forest School at Brompton and Sawdon Primary School
"An inspirational process that offers children, young people and adults regular opportunities to achieve, and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands on learning experiences in a woodland environment.”
Forest Education Initiative, 2005.
At Brompton and Sawdon CP Primary School, we motivate our children to achieve their personal best and explore their full potential. Attending Forest Schools allows our children the opportunity to develop an inquisitive and innovative attitude to the natural world. We ignite their curiosities through hands-on learning experiences, and learn together about how to protect the world we live in. Fire lighting, shelter building and boggart are some of our most challenging activities in the forest; pushing our children to develop their resilience and take risks.
We are a fully qualified team of Forest School Leaders with our own Forest School site within the local community. We work closely with the residents of our village to ensure that our impact on the environment remains low and we respect the flora and fauna growing here in Brompton.
Take a look at our Forest School Handbook for more information on our activities, policies and risk assessments.
