Assemblies & Events

We enjoy whole-school assemblies most afternoons. These are led by our teachers and regularly by visiting speakers, who share their experiences and expertise. Assemblies might explore local, global or national issues, religious events or topics which link to our chosen studies. We also explore protected characteristics, British Values and various safeguarding topics. We try to make our assemblies as interactive as we can and our children sometimes lead the assemblies themselves.

Sometimes we have special visitors to these assemblies, such as parents, governors, local councillors, staff from other schools and settings or our LEA advisors.

Every Friday afternoon we have a special assembly to celebrate our achievements. Each teacher gives awards to pupils in their class in recognition of the five pillars that support our school;

Family
Respect
Nature
Rainbow (acceptance, diversity and links to William Wordsworth)
Ready to Fly (our link to Sir George Cayley)

Before and After School Clubs

Brompton Buddies provides before and after school care from 7:45 am to 5:30/6pm if needed for a small charge. A wide range of after-school clubs are also available to the children. We try to respond to pupil voice / pupil requests when organising these – these views often being gathered by the School Council. We also try to offer a range of experiences not readily available to the children outside of school. Recent examples include Karate, Boccia, Cooking, Enterprise and Engineering. There is a small charge for these clubs. We also have weekly sports clubs for all children from Year 2 upwards and many children have the opportunity to represent the school sports teams.
