Our Logo

A little over 20 years ago, a group of children from this school walked down to the Butts and planted two rows of oak trees. Today, those trees stand tall and proud, full of potential and already a long way from their tiny acorn beginnings. Each leaf is unique, just like the children here at Brompton and Sawdon, and these trees are living proof of our rich heritage and bright future.

Our school shares these wonderful values. We are deeply connected to nature and the world around us.

Our Strapline

Our school launches our young learners on a journey of discovery. Inspiring them to take flight and reach higher in their aspirations and see further than they ever thought possible.

With an obvious reference to our local hero, Sir George Cayley, who did just that when designing and creating the first successful glider to carry a human being aloft, we want our children to aspire to push beyond the limits in becoming the best that they can possibly be, overcoming any obstacles and challenges and influencing change for good wherever they are. At the same time, we want them to be able to reflect on everything they do on a personal, local and global scale. In the same way that Sir George Cayley pioneered aeronautical design and achieved what some thought was impossible, we believe that our children’s opportunities are endless.

Sir George Cayley’s achievements are similarly reflected in our school’s Ready to Fly Pillar.
